Formatting Bullet Point and Numeric Lists in Documents

There are tools for formatting content into bullet or numeric lists within your documents. Below will cover numeric and bullet point lists. For more advanced numeric lists, such as when certain items will apply, refer to this article.

Note: To add a space between each numbered item or the bullet points, press the Shift + Enter keys on the keyboard, followed by the spacebar, and then the Enter key. This will leave a space between the two items in the list.


Bullet Points

To add bullet points to your clause, position your cursor on the line where the first bullet point should be inserted and left-click on the bullet point icon. To add another below, simply hit enter on your keyboard.

To insert the next level of bullet points, select the Right Indent icon to indent the line.

Format Bullet Points

To format the bullet points, position your cursor in the clause beside the bullet point you want to customize, then select the List Properties icon ().

Function


The level indicates what level of Bullet Point being changed. The dropdown list actives if your cursor is in the second or subsequent Bullet Point level. You can only customize Bullet Point from the current Level and above.

Use the dropdown to select the style of Bullet Point for the level indicated in the Level listed above. Options are: Disc, Circle, or Square. The default is Disc.


To increase or decrease the space between your left margin and the bullet point, insert the numerical amount of pixels to be between the left margin and the current bullet point level.


To increase or decrease the space between the prior bullet point level and the next bullet point level, insert the numerical amount of pixels to be between the prior bullet point level and the next bullet point level.

 

Alphabetical/Numerical Lists 

To add alphabetical/numerical lists or points to your clause, position your cursor on the line where the first alphabetical/numerical point should be inserted and left-click on the alphabetical/numerical list icon. To add another alphabetical/numerical point below, hit enter.
 
To insert the next level of alphabetical/numerical points, select the Right Indent icon to indent the line.

Format Alphabetical/Numerical Lists:

To format the alphabetical/numerical list or point, position your cursor in the clause, beside the numerical/alphabetical point you want to customize, then select the List Properties icon ()

Indicates what level of Numerical/Alphabetical List being edited. The dropdown list actives if your cursor is in the second or subsequent Numerical/Alphabetical List levels.

Selects style of Numerical/Alphabetical List for the level indicated in the level listed above.

Increases or decreases the space between your left-margin and the Numerical/Alphabetical List. Insert the numerical amount of pixels you want between the left-margin and the current bullet point level.

Increases or decreases the space between the prior and next Numerical/Alphabetical List point level. Insert the numerical amount of pixels you want between the prior bullet point level and the next Numerical/Alphabetical point level.
