Creating Ontario Standard Closing Documents in RealtiWeb
RealtiWeb is an extremely efficient tool for working
with Ontario Standard Closing Documents from the Working Group on Lawyers and Real Estate.
A checkbox indicates their use and will add the appropriate clause(s) to your
Requisition Letter. The pre-built templates allow for
relevant data to be entered only once and then be included in the applicable
document. Most of the required information is entered during file opening.
Instructions
- To use Ontario Standard Closing Documents as your firm's default closing documents, click the checkbox on the Firm Settings screen under Document Options. Alternatively, this can be selected on the Basic Screen after you open your file.
- The following clause is added to your Requisition Letter:
"We support and will be using the Ontario Standard Closing Documents of the Working Group on Lawyers and Real Estate posted on the www.lawyersworkinggroup.com website. Unless otherwise advised in writing, you agree to the use of these Closing Documents with any changes made to them being clearly visible."
- Ontario Standard Closing Documents have a unique category on the Documents Screen under the Closing Letters and Documents category. Click on those you wish to merge (merging is performed using data from your RealtiWeb file).
- Changes can be made to the merged document on the RealtiWeb screen. Deletions are indicated by strikethrough text and additions formatted with bold or bold and underlined text.
- Documents can be printed for signing, sent via email, or shared via the LDD inbox.
If you prefer to decide on a file-by-file basis on using these documents, you can select or deselect the Use Ontario Standard Closing Documents checkbox.
Keeping your closing documents up
to date
As the Working Group on Lawyers and
Real Estate updates the Closing Docs (or adds new documents), the RealtiWeb versions
are modified to ensure you’re using the most up to date versions.
